Tartharia – A Secret Device – CD Review

In the shadows of a dark, abysmal glory rises a twisted progression of epic ferocity…. Tartharia makes powerful Symphonic Black/Swedish Death Metal with a chilling, serrated Gothic edge. Their 2003 opus of tenebrous radiance, “A Secret Device” [Crash Music, Inc.], is a 5 song EP of monolithic intensity.

Melodic keyboards and symphonic elements burn through crazed guitar assaults. Manic rhythms bolt the beast together; the tempos are harsh, stark, and dynamic. Shrieking and growled vocals impale the fiery aggression, resulting in perfect, sublime violence.

The best of this relentless system of tearing, hungry teeth includes: “Destructive Power Of Life,” the fearless and cruelly beautiful “Vanguard Extremenation,” and addictively brutal grimness of “A Secret Device.” Tartharia is incredible…a harsh, glorious wonder in a world full of mediocrity. This is extremity at its best….

Overall, Tartharia is pushing the limits in a great and unique way. They are wickedly cool. Stay savage. Farewell.

Related Bands: Carcass, Arch Enemy, Entombed (early), Darkane, Eucharist, Naglfar, Cadaver, Sentenced (early), Carnal Forge, Zao, Darkest Hour, Throcult, Dead To Fall, Soulless, etc.

Keep the faith, and the AGGRESSION. War.
