I was recently forwarded a copy of the Scream 3 soundtrack that features a killer new song by one of my favorite bands, finger eleven, called ‘Suffocate‘. This track is just as melodic and intense as their prior work and makes me really anxious to hear more from the new release. It’s got a solid groove and the sound grabs you immediately.
finger eleven is currently at work on a new recording in Toronto with Arnold Lanni producing. If the work they did on their debut release, ‘tip‘ is any indication of what is to come, you can bet on an awesome new CD to hit the racks in the coming months.
finger eleven have been highlighted on the www.scream3music.com page as the ‘featured band of the week‘ …so be sure to have a look at the site, and grab yourself a copy of the CD as soon as you can!
The list of bands on this kick ass compilation includes: Creed (Executive Producers), Slipknot, System of a Down, American Pearl, Sevendust, Godsmack, Coal Chamber, Static-X, Incubus, Dope, Fuel, Powerman 5000, Full Devil Jacket, Orgy, Staind, and Ear2000.
You’ll discover upon listening to the CD that there are a few surprises. For example, the version of ‘Wait and Bleed‘ by Slipknot that you’re used to hearing isn’t the one you’re going to hear on the Scream3 CD. And there is an incredible track called “So Real” by Static-X that Wayne told us himself was written and ready to use for the ‘Wisconsin Death Trip’ CD, but it was ‘too different’ and just didn’t get used.
Incubus does a really cool, and very “Incubus-sounding” song entitled “Crowded Elevator” that I really like. There is other great work by Full Devil Jacket, Dope and one of my favorite Staind songs called “Crawl” also made it on.
Congratulations to all the bands for contributing to a really solid compilation. The Scream3 soundtrack is in stores now.
