On The Rise – Burning Inside – CD Review

On The Rise is Hardcore at its best…powerful, aggressive, and catchy as the plague. Their 2004 opus of detuned glory, titled “Burning Inside” [Bridge Nine Records], is a wonder of primal dynamics. On The Rise breaks-up the AOR Punk mediocrity with their pure, pristine hostility. This is the real thing….

The On The Rise assault tactic is rhythmically groove-heavy with some raw, jaggedly edged charm. Detuned guitars roar through aggressive vocal acrobatics. Hook is never sacrificed for speed though, and this subtle detail shows. On The Rise does it with wild style.

The most notable cuts are “Comotion,” the powerful whirlwind of snarling angst “Burning Inside,” “On The Rise,” the charging “So Slowly Fade,” and “Severed Ties.” On The Rise is one killer Old School NYHC band.

In summary, On The Rise takes the best qualities of Hardcore and truly shines. This is perfect aggression. Stay savage. Farewell.

Keep the faith, and the AGGRESSION. War.
