Gobbling up the Metal at the Whisky A Go Go

Well, although we were unable to attend last night’s sold out Machine Head/Nothingface/NonPoint show (with special guests Endo, and UE favorites Mugg opening) at the Whisky in Hollywood, we managed to catch up with Adam Duce of Machine Head and chit-chatted a little about his plans for the upcoming holiday.  Apparently, Adam plans to try his luck at his own version of snowboarding, with aspirations of doing just that while being pulled on a snowmobile.  Let’s hope Adam doesn’t get a broken arm for Christmas this year!

We had a chance to reacquaint ourselves with some friends we hadn’t seen in a while, and stayed within earshot of the bands performing inside.  Everything sounded good to us, and if the sweat, blood, and steam that kept escaping from the bowels of the club each time the door opened were any indication of what the show was doing to the crowd inside, we were probably safer (if not cooler) outside anyway!  Shoulda booked this one at the Palace, guys!  Maybe next time.

During their set, Machine Head played a couple of the new tracks that will be included on their new album Super Charger.  The band plans to begin recording in January 2001,with an August street date.  Machine Head are also on the lookout for a new producer.  Wonder who the lucky person is going to be?

Nothingface drew several anxious fans that were waiting to see them perform, and Nonpoint blasted their way through a killer set featuring several tracks from their scorching new CD, Statement. The band will be joining hed(pe) in mid-December to continue touring the U.S.  Be sure to catch these guys live if you can!

There were plenty of people that showed up early to catch Endo and Mugg, as well.  Who knows if they were just jonesin’  for a great show, or trying to work off some of those extra calories from the previous night’s Thanksgiving dinner?  Either way, showing up early to catch some of the not-so-well-known stuff is always a smart move.  Especially in last night’s case. Looks like there are definitely some intelligent fans in Hollywood.  And more talent than you can shake a drumstick at!

Happy Rockin’ Thanksgiving everyone!
