From the brutal beauty of Metalcore comes a Hardcore miracle weapon–Boy Sets Fire (or boysetsfire). Their latest slab of artistic wreckage, titled “Live For Today” [Wind-Up Records], is a solid, brilliant opus. This is one severe opus.
Fierce, shrill vocal growls blast through bludgeoning guitars and psychotic rhythms. This is the most ferocious brand of Hardcore. Boy Sets Fire is as sharp as they are abrasive. And this approach works brilliantly for them.
Songs of crystalline aggression include the storming “Release The Dogs,” “Bathory's Sainthood,” the live-cut “After The Eulogy,” and “Handful Of Redemption (Live).” Boy Sets Fire has an insane, powerful sound that could shatter cinder blocks.
In summary, Boy Sets Fire has a pristine hostility that burns brightly. This is revolution at its finest. Stay savage. Farewell.
