Ramallah – …But A Whimper – CD Review

In a world of lightweight, corporate sanitized Punk pseudo-aggression there still are some shining examples of harsh, evolutionary brutality. One such act is Ramallah–whose latest release, “…But A Whimper” [Bridge Nine Records], is a fierce masterpiece.

Ramallah's sound roars, locking together jagged elements of Powercore, Armageddon Thrash, and Metalcore. Imagine a critical mass of rage formed by combining the stylistic qualities of Pantera, Slayer, and Hatebreed. Then make it even more raw, primal, and aggressive. That is Ramallah.

The vocals are a powerful yell, with a little growl. The rhythms are furious and tight, pounding deeply into massive blasts of crushing guitar. The Ramallah sound is intensely powerful and groove heavy, with enough explosive hook to level the Rocky Mountains.

This is REAL Hardcore…

The best of this killer collection of tracks includes “Sleep,” the razing “Ramallah,” “True Crime,” and “Beauty.” Ramallah is as ferocious as they come.

In conclusion, Ramallah is one of the best new bands around. Their CD, “…But A Whimper,” is easily one of the best releases of 2003. Find it and get it…it's worth the effort. Stay savage. Farewell.

Related Bands: Slayer, Overcast, Hatebreed, Atreyu, Dead To Fall, Pantera, Kilgore, Bloodlet, God Forbid, Turmoil, Haste, Hoods, Scar Culture, Candiria, Buried Alive, Darkest Hour, Acid Bath, etc.

Keep the faith, and the AGGRESSION. Peace.
