Impaled – Medical Waste – CD Review

Amazing, horrific, and killer: these words quite aptly describe the gruesome glory of the 2003 opus by the Impaled. The gory collection of psychotic beauty, titled “Medical Waste” (Mini-CD/EP) [Deathvomit/Necropolis Records], consists of 2 undead (live) songs, 2 phenomenal covers, and surgical remnants from the “Mondo Medicale” sessions. Ironically, it is their greatest release yet. (It’s surprising how incredible what is discarded can be.)

Impaled guts elements out of Grindcore and Gore and implants them into their brutally killer Death Metal. Aggression is viciously coupled with wickedly twisted grooves, making for a serrated hook of powerful rhythms and primal guitar blast. Guttural growls are eviscerated by shrieking vocal roars. These are the pivotal reasons that they are at the head of the dissecting class…Impaled are Deathgore Metal masters.

The most fierce of these killer cuts include the Grind assault of “Gross Anatomy,” their blistering rendition of Nirvana‘s “Tourette’s,” “Back To The Grave (Dead)” (a blistering live cut), and “Raise The Stakes.” But the very best song is their morbidly addictive cover of the Deadbolt classic “The Hearse.” (Now that’s twisted genius….)

In last words, Impaled are killer. This one is murderously perfect. Stay savage. Farewell.

Related Bands: Mortician, Death, Monstrosity, Grave, Usurper, Carnage, Dismember, Carcass, Denata, Acid Bath, etc.

Keep the faith, and the AGGRESSION. War.
