From the stark digital waste that is the information badlands comes Hypnosis. Their unique, enthralling brand of Techno/Industrial Death Metal is arrives as a timely divergence from the current Metalcore tsunami. Their 2004 release, “Cyber Death” [Crash Music, Inc.], is a solid and electrifying opus.
Hypnosis uses keyboards, hammering samples through the bloody flesh of frenetic rhythms and intense blast-beats. The songs are powerful, but uncluttered. Midrange growls are enhanced with some clean, female vocals. Harsh and sublime, Hypnosis is amazing.
The best of these cyber-beasts includes “Vortex,” the ferocious “Give Me Hell,” the dark melancholy of “My Cell,” and the tenebrous power and radiance of “Bleed” (my favorite easily). Hypnosis destroys with a pure digital ferocity that is beyond the rest….
In summary, Hypnosis is a wildly cool band. Don’t fall asleep on getting this one. Stay savage. Farewell.
