Humungus – I Hate Mother Fucking Cops/A Reason To Care – CD Review

Humungus is big, loud, and raw Punk Rock the way it was meant to be—harsh.  The classic 2-on-1 disc reissue of “I Hate Mother Fucking Cops/A Reason To Care” [Beer City Records] is an old school treat.  Featuring members of legendary acts Verbal Abuse and the Dead Boys, Humungus cuts a raw-edged vein that bleeds reverberated angst.

Screamed vocals rip through the massive din of caustic guitars and dense rhythms.  This grating assault digs into the skull, and explodes with angry radiance.  It’s a massive effort that succeeds with a smashed smile.

The best cuts include “Colorblind,” “In The Darkness,” the mad bash of “A Reason To Care,” and “This Time.”  Humungus is direct, and effective.

Overall, this is a caustic classic fit for the fans of Noise/Raw Edge Punk Rock.  This one is loud and proud.  Stay savage.  Farewell.

Related Bands: Blue Cheer, D.R.I., Nirvana, Verbal Abuse, Stiff Little Fingers, Iggy & The Stooges, Dead Boys, Black Flag, Fluffy, etc.

Keep the faith, and the AGGRESSION. War.
