Darkane – Expanding Senses – CD Review

From the finest darkness that Northern Europe has to offer comes the ferocious Darkane.  Their latest barrage of musical warfare, called “Expanding Senses” [Nuclear Blast Records], is their best to date.  It is Melodic Swedish Death Metal insanity unleashed.

They have taken a more melodic approach here, focusing less on speed but digging the hooks in more deeply.  The aggression remains intact, while not as tightly wound.  Swedish Style vocal growls penetrate waves of razor-sharp, crashing guitars and pummeling rhythms.

…And the rest is violence.

The best cuts include “Fatal Impact,” the incendiary “Violence From Within,” “Innocence Gone,” “Chaos Vs Order,” and “The Fear Of One’s Self.”  Darkane is a force of pure artistic destruction.

In summary, Darkane has created yet another masterful work.  The skill is gloried in the aggression.  Stay savage.  Farewell.

Related Bands: In Flames, Eucharist, Opeth, Soilwork, Arch Enemy, Carcass, Dead To Fall, Darkest Hour, Witchery, etc.

Keep the faith, and the AGGRESSION. War.
